Inside the Waistband

An inside the waistband holster is worn inside the waistband or belt, typically in the appendix position, on the hip (3 o'clock position) and the small of the back 4-5 o'clock position. 

Outside the Waistband

An outside the waistband (OWB) holster  attaches to the outside of the belt, typically using a belt clip or loops. It is designed to hold a firearm securely and provide quick and easy access when needed.
